Yes, it seems to be true. ABCNews has confirmed, so has Newsday.
What a sad life she led. That astonishingly beautiful face led to nothing but trouble.
Something tells me this wasn't an accident, not after son Daniel died basically the same way.

I just feel terrible for her daughter, poor girl she had a crazy life may she rest in peace and i hope her family particularly her mother doesnt go on television slamming her ever agian especially after this.

According to some news sources (Reuters), her BF was in the hotel room with her when she died.

CNN doesn't need details to fill hours of airtime..Wolfs been on there since it first erupted barely taking a breath with pointless questions to the all knowing Dr. Sanjay Gupta to provide conjecture as to what "might" have happened" and what "might the paramedics have done" and on and on and on make me sick.
Meanwhile the staff at the National Enquirer is abuzz previewing what picture and shocking headline will grace their next issue.

Any death is a tragedy, of course, but I should think that Cable Noise Network, Fox Noise and others would pay a little bit of attention to more important developments in the news - but then that explains the mess this country is in already, why pay attention to it now?

While it is unfortunate the Ms. Smith passed away, let's not forget that she was not exactly an angel. Here are some of the highlights of her career:
Former topless dancer (Rick's Houston) turned golddigger. She was still fighting the Marshall family over the millions her 89 year old husband was "susposedly" said to leave to her. I heard today that her baby will continue this fight for the bucks.
A few years ago while the first probate trial was going on in Houston, she spent a number of days in the hospital trying to wean herself off of drugs. I have heard that Demerol was her drug of choice.
And what's this mess with Howard K. Stern, her lawyer claiming that the kid she had a few months ago was his? If you ever watched her reality show it was quite clear that all Anna ever was to him was a meal ticket.
So we have this poor woman who is involved in a class action lawsuit along with TrimSpa. Mr. Burkhead in LA saying he's the father and want's a paternity test with Ms. Smith jumps thru hoops to prevent from happening.
And let's not forget Ms. Kimmie from the reality show. I could never figure out the relationship she had with Anna.
How many ways can you say "Oh....Puhleaze! (in a Joan Rivers kinda way). Just beacuse someone is capable of having sex doesn't mean that they should have kids. This is a good example. The woman was a mess.

Some people are just 'born under a bad sign' as the saying goes. Their lives (for whatever reasons, some self-fulfilling, no doubt) just seem to bounce from one tragic episode to the next.
Well, it is sad. She was a real beauty in her youth, but sadly, she seemed to turn all that into something quite other than beautiful, with her immature behavior and inability to control her various appetites. More because of her immature behavior, really.
I recall seeing bits of her reality show a couple years ago when I still had cable. I found it depressing. And "Trendy Bobby"? He seemed to be even more of a mess than Nicole.
One of the reasons why I cancelled my cable was that the so-called 24 hour news channels would belabor the same top trivia story endlessly, punctuated by arrogant commercials for more of the same coverage. I do miss Comedy Channel and History Channel. But for documentaries and thoughtful programming PBS wins hands down, and I can get it loud and clear for free (other than an occasional membership) over the air.
Anna Nicole would merit maybe two words on a PBS news program: "She died".
