Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Compared to the KDS-17A on the left, KA moved the buttons around and gave them different names, changed up the panel look and made some internal changes as well. Bonus! This '18 has a recent motor.

I have a hunch the only thing wrong with the 806 is an intermittent door switch- You have to play with it a little to get the dryer to shut off and the INTERNAL LIGHT to come on! Yes, a lighted drum, alright!
A new fluorescent tube and the console lit up. And the control module is date stamped 1999.

Now to clean these machines up!

Very nice Cory! I didn't realize KA was still doing the stainless that late in the game.

I imagine in Iowa you can find quite a treasure trove of Maytag things. Do you still see a lot of Maytag wringers? I really like the electronic control dryers.

Very nice finds indeed! That SS KDS-18 is a beauty, I've never seen one with those panels before. Your 806 dryer is a very nice machine too, probably from 68-69 as it still has the chrome strip along the front and bar baffles. That door switch might just need a shot of lubricant to loosen up the sticky contact. Congrats on another good week!

Corey that Is a very nice dryer. You sure do have a knack for this appliance hunt thing. Thankyou for sharing your finds with us. alr2903.

Thanks Guys! There seems to be a good supply of these classics heading for the scrap pile here in the Midwest. I can't imagine what was going to the recycler 10 years ago. Real gems for sure!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for turquoise. I'd pay a small fortune for a matched turquoise GE or Frigidaire set.
