The minus points.....
As fantastic as it is cosmetically it does sadly have a few "issues"- believe me the customer wouldnt have got rid of it if it didnt as it matched her kitchen lol..
1. It needs suspension replacement- pretty usual on fast spin Hoovers of this age....
2. The backplate seal needs replacing.
3. The bearings will need replacement at some point in the not too distant future as there is a very small amount of play in them. As long as Qualtex come through with the kit they will be done at the same time as the backplate seal. On the subject of bearings the kit for this and all 1200/1300 spin Logics/Ecologics is obsolete from Hoover as genuine and all our suppliers except Qualtex as pattern- suffice to say ive ordered a couple lol....

That looks brilliant, especially impressive how all the stickers are still intact too!
Its a shame Hoover have stopped stocking such common parts as bearings. Don't some manufacturers, including Electrolux, still stock parts for some of their machines that are quite abit older than the Hoover Logic?

These are great machines, none of the faults as you say are unusual on Hoover of this age.
I used to own the white version of this in the 80s and 90s

Nice One !
I used to have the Hoover Logic 1300 W/D in white with grey fascia..some -20 yrs ago.
The programmer used to "cick" around until it found its place.

Really pleased that you have a Logic again. Weird how its the same model, but different colour to the machine you used to have (I think the other one was an A3636). Glad that it has received a suitable direct replacement.
Great stuff that a Logic 1300 is back in the preserved ranks.
It really does look in good nick and has obviously been well respected during its life and it shows in its visual condition.
You mention the spares lark - sounds like we shall all have to start accumulationg spares for these machines now too. Disgraceful that they are becoming unsupported by Hoover - bearings are such a basic replacement item! Thank god for qualtex!!!
Your machine is the second or third older relation to mine and robs ecologic, which is also a 1300, with delay start and the same colour (or colours scheme equivilent)
Over the moon with your new acquisition and keep us updated with how it goes.

Yes like the Keymatic...
But I had problems with my machine.
If I set it to wash and dry ,the laundry would stick to to drum after the final 1300 spin and then the dryer kicked in and dried them to the sides of the drum !
Cardboard clothes !
But overall as a washer it was a good little performer.

I had to leave mine as part of the kitchen appliances included when I sold my house.
I remember when I moved into my new home there was a Colston washer dryer circa 1985ish.. very "sleak" european styling but the spin speed was about 500rpm and the dryer was practically useless.
I ended up buying a new Hitachi from a small electrical retailer. Nice ..Had a round chrome door.
Black fascia with yellow electronic touch buttons.
Do you remember that Hitachi washer back in 1989-90. ?
That one stayed when I moved also...

Yup you may want to start stocking up on spares. As well as the bearings I believe the sump hose is NLA as Genuine (The later type with the pressure switch fitting is though - I take it your version has this type as thats what Matts A3590 is fitted with ).
At the end of the day I guess in Hoovers reckoning its a 21 year old machine so people wont be needing parts. As bad as this is things are going to be a lot worse for collectors in the future. An example of this would be a customer I served a week or so ago, he wanted a door seal for a Creda dryer that was just over 5 years old. Not only was the seal attached to the front panel so the entire assembly would have required replacement at a cost of £65 odd but it was obsolete with no alternative. Suffice to say hes never going to buy another Indesit Co appliance.......
This will be a long term project as I really have a lot going on in my life at the mo and cant spare the time currently
. At the weekend it will be moved to the kitchen alongside the A3308 and the Insight /Zanussi dryer will be stacked in the bathroom on the worktop offcut the Logic is on in the pics (yes I know they shouldnt be in there but they will be connected to an RCD adaptor and I think im sensible enough not to touch when im in the shower lol!!!)

Id love to know why the decision was made to drop the digital time delay and replace it with the manual version. Not only does it seem like a backward step in technical terms but I personally think the "Timeline" looks far better that the small window timer .

I think Nov 1988 is pretty early for a Logic
The Ecologic didn't debut until 1991, and I believe the Logic range was introduced in 87ish.
You can't help but love these machines!

I used to use the delay start as a sort of long soak before washing, i would let the program begin (fill with water) and then set the delay start and come home from work and it was all done.
Mine had the digital read out, always thoought it looked good.

Thats something i never thought about as mine was a washer only, so does the washer/dryer not slow tumble the clothes after spinning and then go into the drying mode?

The successor range to the Ecologics, the New Wave washer-driers, had a deplastering sequence of tumbling and slow spins (500rpm?).
Hoover probably identified this problem and tried to correct it in the following range.
