Hi Guys,

Here is a 1976 Simpson 104 that i bought off a lovely old man for AU$50.00. It is in excellent condition and will be part of the collection for the Convention in 2008.This model marked Simpson's change to what is affectionately referred to as the "Tupperware" or "plastic bucket" gearbox. (a picture to follow). This style of transmission served Simpson faithfully for another 20 years before they dispensed with a proper steel gearbox altogether.

And...the inner workings

Here is what i mean about the gearbox, Simpson changed from the "flying saucer" all cast iron gearbox to this design. All the gearing is placed in the centre surrounded by the "plastc bucket" and in a bath of oil. The main difference is that the agitation arc is 180 degrees versus 210 degrees from the older style gearbox, but does agitate slightly faster.

Top stuff Leon!

Fantastic!

These blue rockerswitch models are much less common than the woodgrain pattern models.

I love the blue and the very seventies font and the dark blue agitator.

Videos please!
