I've said it before and am saying it again - DO NOT answer a CL advertisement by responding to a gmail address. If an email response is appropriate, only respond through the CL system.
I you (buyer) contact the seller through a direct email address, the seller then has your contact information; something that does not happen when responding through CL.
Most advertisements that are constructed this way are fake. In most cases the item probably does not exist and certainly is not in the possession of the advertiser. The only reason for the ad is to get your information.
