Previewed on the 'Early Show' today were household products that could potentially go up in value in years to come. Some items were a Dyson yellow vac, a toaster, a tea kettle, a 'Garbo' trash can, a toilet plunger, and Oxo 'Good Grips' tools.

Very interesting that these items could be worth $$$ in the future.

That's interesting,

Gary.

I have a lot of Good Grips tools, except for the knives, which could be waaaaaay better. The potato peeler is as good as the knives could be better.

I'm sorry to hear about the yellow Dyson. I would never give one houseroom. Even if James Dyson himself gave it to me! Being who I am, I would thank him sincerely, and then give it to a Habitat family.

I remember about 15-20 years ago hearing that Tupperware was going to be the Depression Glass of the future. I'm still waiting :)

Good grips

I have a ton of them as well, maybe they will fund my retirement in 25 years. J/K

I saw a similar story recently on TV. This one said that almost anything at Target designed by Michael Graves will be collectible. Advised to buy one to use and one to keep in a box. I think this prediction is fairly accurate. But there isn't a whole lot of Michael Graves stuff at Target that I want or need, and I don't have the extra space, even to shove a toaster somewhere for 50 years or whatever. Bottom line is that pretty much anything can become collectible if you wait long enough.

Speaking of toasters I bought one of these B&D Arize toasters a couple of years ago because it looked sort of fun, was different and it might be collectible some day. I used it a couple of times and it was notorious for starting the bread on fire so I quit using it but kept it for collection purposes. Then I noticed they were "clearing" them out just about everywhere and that many people on epinions said the same thing causing the toast to catch on fire.. Anyways.. if you can find one cheap it's fun and I think might be a better long term collectible..

Couldn't agree with you more!!!

Dyson Yellow

I took mine back the first day. Too unwieldy, didn't deep-clean my rugs well enough (but that's me)....

Dyson Yellow

if you mean the "07" series, its no surprise. horrible sorry excuse for a brushroll. and nozzle for that matter. what good is the miracle filtration if it cant get deep down clean?

Dyson (any color/any model)

I'll stick with my Electrolux XXX. I don't think you can scrub and buff your (tile) floors or blow the leaves/debris off the porch with a Dyson. I know a selling point is to see the dirt whril around, but not for me (I don't like being reminded how dirty my carpets really are)........ nope, I think I'll keep my Electrolux.
