Any truly informational and unbiased U.S. news sources?

I stopped reading websites and newspapers that used to be reliable and honest (i.e. liberal), but have drifted to the right over the years and are now nothing more than Neocon squawk boxes and Entertainment Weekly wannabes (Washington Post, Reuters, ABC, CNBC, CNN etc etc etc). I really, really don't care what underwear Paris Hilton is buying.

This question is directed to AW's left-leaning members: where do you get your real news these days? I'm down to just a few online sites (e.g. Daily Kos, American Prospect, BBC, Air America and a few local sites) but most are either blog-based or cover only local news. Thanks.

Find it helpful to read and watch news reports from international sources outside the United States. So much of the media in the US is controlled by huge companies that it is hard finding unbiased reporting.

During the lead up to and major parts of the Iraq war for instance, the coverage was vastly different from international news.

Even with the current Israel situation regarding Palestine, you find the reporting from say BBC or France2 giving a different perspective than say CBS Evening News.

That is a tuffy. I find BBC is biased as hell so might as well read the Daily "Torygraph".
I find I have to read a few to the left, a few to the right then the Onion and after thinking about it for a while I try to sift through what might make some kind of sense. Some days only MAD Magazine makes any sense.

I still like NPR,

and from the little I can verify, they are still accurate, and work against obvious bias. I am not as uncritical of them as I was when I started listening in the 1970s, however. I miss the daily presence of Susan Stamberg, Noah Adams, and Nina Totenberg. However......

I read the BBC online, and would call it better than most.

The best newspapers in the US are WSJ and CSM. I hate, loathe, despise, abhor and abominate Gannett/USA Today.

NPR, second that motion

and I have taken a liking to Radio Deutsche Welle. My local NPR station WYSU has started to air Newslink, an hour news program in place of the BBC Newshour. Online generally look for local news, as the local paper is not worth the subscription.

The Wall Street Journal is perhaps the best newspaper around, although its quality has gone downhill since the buyout by Rupert Murdoch. It used to be just a plain old reliable source of news and features. The (formerly) long feature articles were the best, and not necessarily just business-related. Now, there is too much of borderline sensationalism, useless pictures, and now more sports. Always amazed to see a newspaper from 50 or 100 years ago, and to see the overwhelming amount of news on each page. Nowadays, the local paper might have only 3 stories on the front page.
