On Friday January 8 @ 6:00 pm pacific time, Ghost Adventurers is going to be in Clovis California, the town I live in. They're going to a place called Wolfe Manor which used to be a Sanitarium. This place is notorious for being haunted by the thousands of people who died there over many years. Ghost Hunters and another show have already been out there, and have said in all the places they've been to, this is the most paranormal activity they had ever experienced. I personally know the owner, Todd Wolfe, very nice man and is actually going to turn this place into an actual hotel. Be sure to catch it on the Travel Channel. You can even go to the SyFy channel's website to see the episode they filmed of the Sanitarium. It's under season 4 episode 25 titled "Recycled Souls". So check them out, for you fans of haunted places, I think you'll be in for a real treat!

Hey be proud!!

LOL I mean, if you're into a Vintage Appliance website, where's the shame in being into ghosts lol. Well be sure to check out Ghost Adventurers this friday night on the Travel Channel. 6:00 PM pacific time. And also Ghost Hunters on SYFY. I listed the season and episode number for their showing of the Sanitarium. You're gonna love it!

It would be neat if they could catch some paranormal appliances on film. A "walking" G.E. filter flow. A "flickering" Frigidare. Maybe a "moaning" Maytag or a "bleeding" Bendix... Oh,a "screaming" Shreadmore or a "haunted" Hoover would be neat too! I think there is a movie to be made here..... Ghost-o-matic,comming to a theater near you soon!

Ghost Adventurers RULES!

IMO, they are the best group of investigators... Just the three of them, no fancy camera crew.

And they usually get the best evidence.

NEVER miss that show on Friday Night!

I watch

In fact the local Paranormal group spent the night at my house about a year back.

My house was built in 1935, and is in a part of town with known history. (it was the old brothel and gambling house district). Wichita was an old cowtown before it became the Air-cap so lots of rowdy history.

We have two residents of our home that doesn't pay rent. One is an older woman about the same vintage of the house, the other is a little girl from around the 60's.

The Woman is very teritorial of the kitchen. It is the only place she is seen, and the only place anything she does happens. She was very upset about a recent project when the house was re-roofed and re-sided. We woke up one morning and the Kitchen cabinet doors were ripped from the hinges.

The little girl appears on the front porch, the back yard and my daughter's room. She has been seen on the swing and routinely plays my daughter's piano.

When the paranormal group was here they photographed many orbs and had several incidents of electrical changes.

The group spends a lot of time in the basement of the Broadview Hotel. It's an older hotel on the river with lots of history.

I watch these shows if they are good, and not some cheap copy of "The Blair Witch Project".

I actually saw a ghost, or something like it back in the early 80's. I anyone wants me to relate the story, I will.

I too have had an encounter with a ghost. There's just no other explanation, and the owner of the house I was staying in even knew the ghost's name and what she was all about--he described perfectly the noise I first heard coming from the back of the house. Even the cat that was sleeping on my bed tracked the ghost as it passed through the room.

The little girl in my house is named Amy. She talks to my daughter and like I said plays with her piano. My daughter can be in the other room with us, and you can hear her piano playing away like a kid would play.

The woman in the kitchen, I don't know her name--she is very teritorial and has a propensity towards tantrums.

About 1976 I went out on a date with a gal I had met through mutual friends. She lived in a garage apartment in Oak Park, IL.
We went out had dinner and a few drinks. We then went to a movie and I took her home. She asked if I wanted to come up for a cup of coffee, so I said "Sure".

We walked into her apartment and she said that I should stay by the front door until she turns on the light, which was in the kitchen, she didn't want me to trip over the furniture in the living room. So I waited there as the apartment was pitch black.
As she was walking to the kitchen, the bathroom door opened and from the light shining out of the bathroom door, I noticed a guy walked out and was walking towards my date. I said "Hi" and the guy stopped, looked at me and just stood there, leaning against the refrigerator just watching me. He was wearing jeans, a white t-shirt, tennis shoes and a red baseball cap. He didn't say anything. So then I walked towards him to introduce myself and he got this shocked look on his face and opened a door behind him and walked inside, closing the door after himself. Then the lights came on after my date turned them on.
I asked her who was that? And she said who was who? I said a guy came out of the bathroom and went through that door over there. I then noticed that the bathroom light, which provided illumination of this scene was off. She asked my how I made it to the kitchen without tripping on the kitchen counter or sofa. I said I saw the layout of the apartment from the light in the bathroom. She went over there and opened the door, which was a closet with no other doors or windows! Where did the guy go?
This guy or ghost looked totally real. No transparency, no fog or anything like that. He looked as real as you or I. So I wasn't scared at all when it happened.
Strange, eh?
A few years later, I encountered a person who said she was a medium and she said not to worry about what I saw. According to her, I just happened to be a "passerby" in a sighting. She asked if the ghost spoke to me, it didn't, so she said not to worry. But that garage apartment was probably haunted.

Bisbee, AZ.

A few years back, some friends and I flew out to Bisbee Az. We stayed at a haunted hotel in town. I had a room to myself. Sometime in the night while I was sleeping, I was tucked into bed. The sheets were tucked under the mattress all the way up to the top. I woke up the next morning and had difficulty sitting up in bed. Afterwards, I figured out why.

The friends I was with had their luggage moved in their room.

I love ghost stories. This Sanitarium my friend owns, was basically a place for people to go when they were ready to die. Thousands of people have died there and there are some pretty freaky sightings and sounds that happen. When Ghost Hunters went out there, 2 men were I think in the basement, when they heard a disembodied voice, clear as day, and they were filming when it happened. You can see their reactions. When they played it back later to the owner, they asked him what he thought it said, and he said "I like the one in the hat". (And one of the guys was wearing a hat.) Which is exactly what you can hear it say in the playback and when it was orginally filmed. The owner has said there are shadows frequently in the place, and many voices. He said some will even cuss you out. They even looked around for any speakers or microphones and couldn't find any, which would be pointless cause the place hasn't had power hooked up to it in years.

Downtown Buford

There is an old building in Buford that was built on farmland. Originally, it was built by the phone company and they had some offices there. Well, the third shift kept complaining about the man in overalls that used to follow women into the ladies room. He used to do other things as well. It got so bad that eventually, they eliminated the third shift in this building. So, then the first shift would come in in the morning and the office equipment would be powered on. Electric typewriters, adding machines and such.

A few years back, the office was closed, the building was sold, and it is part of the farmers market now.

I dig the Ghost Adventures show on the Travel CHannel. Just those 3 guys, nobody else with them. The other shows are ok. I'm not a big fan of Ghost LAb, but the one with the guys from TAPS is not bad. I'd imagine, some stuff is realistic and some not. Do I believe in ghosts? I'm not sure. It'd be arrogant of me to insist I know the answer. There are many things we cannot explain. Orbs are what intrigue me right now. Most on photos can be explained by dust or bugs...........

Now onto my story. As some of you know, we're into early cast iron stoves. Our building is the last remnant of a long ago shuttered stove works. Stoves and other iron were produced on this site starting in the 1840's and the original buildings were burned down in the early 1870's. Our building was rebuilt here shortly after that. It had gone though a few other businesses after the stove works shut down in the 1920's. Well to make a long story short......

We began to move our stove collection into the building. We picked the third floor to make into our "museum." We began to bring in stoves that were made RIGHT HERE. We always had a digital camera with us to document our big move. You gotta understand. We rented the last 20some odd years. We were so stoked to be buying our own building, much less be buying the building that had housed the stoves we had been collecting! Anyway, after watching some ghost show, we had seen a thing on orbs. For fun, we reviewed pics that we had taken over the last number of years (ain't digital great!). WELL, to our suprise, we found some "orbs". The amazing part, on the 1st, 2nd, 4th, & 5th floors, we didn't find any orbs. On the third floor, well, take a look at these two pictures, taken months apart, if not, a year or two. There was nothing on the walls to cause any reflection. We had taken THOUSANDS of pics with this camera and had NEVER seen anything like this on any other of the pics we had taken ANYWHERE we had used the camera.

The first pic is my brother walking back to the elevator to get another stove for the floor. You'll see the big orb in the center of the pic. If you look at the arrow I added, there is another orb on his back. I disguised him for his sake.

On the second pic, taken months, if not a year or two later, here is the same orb at a different location. Again, this camera had never had a problem before. I have no other explanation.

Interesting orb pix. I don't know much about those things. So is this a case of your average person not being able to see the orb, but a camera capturing it?

I also agree that "Ghost Lab" isn't worth watching for the subject matter. I much prefer to be looking at Barry Klinge the whole time than any ghostly subjects. What I think makes both brothers looks stupid is the way they more or less issue demands for the ghosts to present themselves. I think any ghost who had those big guys calling them out would make a 180 and leave the scene. Of course if I were a ghost and Barry ordered me into his presence, I wouldn't waste a moment to accommodate him ;-)

Ralph, supposedly the digital cameras capture things in a different way than an slr. Most times people are capturing dust with a digital camera, though.
