Hey all, found a machine I think I'd want, but I'm not sure how I'd get it, unless someone is in the area and willing to help me get it shipped. Also of course if anyone has anything to chime in about a 1950's Bendix.
Anyone near OR?

I reached out to the seller, and they're unwilling to pack it if I send a shipper, they were actually quite rude about it. Anyone out there Pendleton OR?

Pendleton
Pendleton is an iconic Western ranching community in Eastern Oregon and home to the famed Pendleton Woolen Mills. My younger brother is the manager of Hamley's one of the oldest Western Wear stores in the US and home to famed saddlemakers. The Severe Bros still make saddles and the original site is on the national preservation site. The Pendleton Round Up is legendary for it's rodeo. My father was one of the stock contractors who provided bucking horses and bulls until his retirement. This year, my niece McKenzie Beard is the rodeo queen of the Pendleton Round Up which is in September. She and her court make appearances at the major rodeos of the PRCA throughout the US and Canada. My insufferable but perfect oldest brother lives nearby and is the emergency management director for Morrow county. Among other things he was responsible for the safe destruction of many bombs, warheads and mustard gas used in WWII and subsequent operations in Korea, Latin America and Vietnam. These had been stored in Umatilla and many of them had become unstable and volitile. I have a cazillion contacts in the area and I could also help if you need me. It is a 3 1/2 hour drive from Ellensburg where I live. Let me know if I can help in anyway. I also have friends who own Montana Transer in Missoula and have offered to work with any of us here to ship. They have a special service that transports in padded and heated trailers with air ride for objects of antique value. I was given a bid of $882.00 to move a matching Maytag set from Waterloo Iowa to me in Ellensburg. If you call, ask for Jared and let him know I recommend them. My son oftens works as a pick up man for the rodeos and is on the right in this picture.

I believe that is . . .
. . . what is referred to as the tombstone Bendix because of the shape. It's a workhorse. But I'm pretty sure it would have to be bolted down.
I have a 1945 Bendix that still works great.

I had asked if it needed to be bolted down and the guy said no....maybe I'll check out some of the shipping companies and if I find a reasonable quote I'll buy it.

that is meant to be operated"bolted down"-reason is there is no suspension and
the tubs are rigidly fixed in place.Because their is no suspension or
counterweights,these are fairly light-i'd recon 150-160lb,if you have not
seen one in person they are smaller than they often appear in photos.
If you don't have a way to bolt down the bendix,you might be able to make a
platform of heavy wood planks and bolt it to that to give it ballast and keep
it in place during spin-the rpm of which is low by modern standards 300rpm IIRC
Design of these bendix if from the late 1930s,they were built with a few

Now I don't feel too bad since I'm not in a position to bolt something down lol WEll I guess the sear continues for a Westy Laundromat or Bendix Duomatic!
