I've had my own apartment for 2 years and I still don't have cable. I think 50 dollars a month for cable is ridiculous, and I do not want to support the monopoly that is Brighthouse. So, what I do instead is get Netflix... I like older stuff anyway (Lucy, Andy, Mamma's Family, Golden Girls, Brady Bunch).
Also, in an effort not to support Brighthouse, I don't have them as my ISP. Instead, I use my T-mobile Wing as a modem for my computer. The problem with that is that it is as slow as dial up. I can't watch streaming videos or youtube, and downloads take forever and a day. Lately, I've also not been able to view pictures on Craig's List ads on my PDA or computer. I went to Craig's List help and discovered that ONLY people who use T-mobile for their ISP are having this problem. I had to cancel my gay.com membership because the revamped the site so chat only works with high speed now. The latest thing is that automaticwasher.org will not work in my home computer though it does work at work! I've used Mozzilla, IE, Safari, Chrome, and Opera, and have the same results with all of them.
So... I surrendered. At least with the internet. The "cable guy" is coming Wednesday to install Road Runner Lite for 32 dollars a month. It will be strange for me to have high speed for the first time and have things actually work! I'm finally coming out of the stone age.
But, I have a question. I heard that there are some sites online that enable one to watch TV or sitcoms that have been pre-recorded. Anyone know any good ones?
