Help Support :

Hey Toploader,

Fuller Brush sells a product called Appliance Cleaner & Wax. It comes in an aerosol can and is available at Stop & Shop supermarkets. I have used this product for years. It is wonderful on appliances, chrome, even countertops.

You'll love it!

Jubilee:

Jubilee is still around; you can often find it in Ace Hardware stores. If you can't find it anywhere nearby, the Johnson Wax website offers it by mail order. It's better for polishing appliances than anything else I've ever used, plus the scent reminds me of my grandmother's old kitchen when I was little. She used to use it on her round-top Philco fridge and her Youngstown Kitchens metal cabinets:

It would depend on the finish.

For painted or powder coated surfaces, I've found the Meguiar car finish products work well.

For porcelain enamel, a mild cleanser (like softscrub or Bon Ami) is probably best.

Turtle Wax makes a good automotive chrome cleaner/polish. Kitchenaid makes a very good stainless steel polish (Brasso will work as well).

Stainless Steel:

Forgot to tell you- if you have stainless, the best polish is none at all. Stainless looks best and is easiest to re-clean when it is kept clean with Windex. For more serious soiling, straight ammonia works well. If something is really problematic, Cameo stainless cleaner will generally get rid of it; Bon Ami works nearly as well if you can't find Cameo. I do not recommend Bar Keeper's Friend for fine stainless; it is a little more abrasive than Cameo and degrades the gloss (or the brush on brushed finishes) very slightly. Clean is the key on stainless- it really needs nothing else.

Restaurants and delis with stainless equipment often use an oily product called Sheila Shine on reefer fronts, etc. While it makes things look good immediately after use, it has a tendency to look smeary after the stainless surface has been touched a few times. It builds up in crevices, too.

Jubilee memories

Every Thanksgiving I was "tasked" to dust the folding chairs and "Jubilee" the Crosley Shelvador in the basement kitchen. HOW I HATED IT! However.... The Crosley is today mine and it still looks (and works) darn good. At the age of ten I could not realize that the "payback" would come years later.
