I just got the Andy Griffith episode on Netlfix where they went to Hawaii and Aunt Bea won all those appliances. What a fun episode... and she was so proud! What brand were they? Especially liked the fridge and portable dishwasher. ) Thanks

On one episode, Aunt Bea wins appliances on a game show. She won a 1965 Frigidaire refrigerator, and I think a Whirlpool washer and dryer, along with a dishwasher.

She won the appliances on a game show while they were in Hollywood when/where a movie was made about Andy's life. IIRC, the movie was called "Sheriff Without A Gun". This episode was on just this weekend on TVLand <br

I thought they would have used appliances all from the same manufacturer... I'm shocked they mixed and matched! Too bad she didn't get to keep the dishwasher at least! <br
The fur coat was a great appliance... I wonder if it had batteries or ran on electricity?

aunt bees disposal

I seem to remember that she also won an in sink garbage disposal. She was showing it off to Clara, her dear friend. Bee was demonstrating with some peelings in the sink on how well it worked. I wonder if this was one of the Fridaire's that have been on this site this week, Anyone know the brand of this

I don't think there was ever a shot of the disposal in the episode so it's hard to say... If I had to guess, I'd say a GE Disposall to match the Mobile-Maid.

I recently was informed that in the episode called "Barney's Replacement" Barney is convinced that Andy is planning to replace him, so Barney takes a job as a vacuum cleaner salesman <br

Robert you are incredible, I ask a question and the next day you have the answer in pictures posted. Do you ever sleep? Thanks so much for the still pictures, so much to see versus being on video. Again you are great. On another note I had a GE Mobile Maid years ago just like the one in the pics, nice coppertone. Gave it to someone when I moved into a house with a built in Sears unit

Aunt Bea's Constellation

In one of the later color episodes, Aunt Bea was vacuuming the sofa with a Constellation. It was the episode where the summit met at Andy's. Andy comes in to tell her that the guests are coming right in the middle of her cleaning. It is a short scene, but you can tell what kind of vacuum it is.
