A Vacuumland user asked how one can upload their photos to aw.org or vacuumland while using an iPad or iPhone. I thought I would make a post on aw as well about this.
Unfortunately Apple's free browser (safari) blocks all photo uploads from their mobile devices. The only way is for website developers to spend months writing and debugging special apps for their sites, then pay Apple $99 for a developers license, upload it to their App Store and pray (or in my case cast a spell) that they accept it.
There is a much better iPhone / iPad browser and it allows all file photo uploads right from your phone's Camera Roll just like on a PC or Mac. It's called iCab Mobile Browser and it's available from the App Store. Unfortunately its $1.99 so its not free, but I've been using it and I like it so far.
ps. No other popular mobile phone has this issue, Droid/Blackberry, etc. Their free generic browsers has all upload features without having to pay an extra amount. Don't get me started with Apple on this subject. I am both a Windows and Mac (I have both a MacBook and Sony Vaio Laptop) user and I find both devices to be about equal with positive and negative points. In the end as a programmer though I do prefer a windows computer, but that is just me.
