Hi CleanFresh

WELCOME.

Please forgive me for what I am about to do.... I am the LAST person that should be directing others.

But in general, it is easier to follow a single topic or train of thought when posted to one "thread" rather than in the the three we see here so far.

Enjoy the site. The peeps here are AMAZING. And again, a hearty welcome.

Again it is my request to have a real first name and a year of birth in the profiles so we have a sense of who is on the "other end" of these posts.

respectfully,
Steve

Fels Naptha

I see the bars from time to time in my local store. However, the detergent/or soap were flakes in a regular detergent box. I do not know if this was the same formulation or not. The commerical slogan was: "INSTANT FELS NAPTHA GETS OUT HANGOVER DIRT".
Does anyone remember this?

Oh. my I am dating myself.

Hi to all. Thanks toggleswitch. I know about the one "thread". My ONLY EXCEPTION is when I'm not sure the person will return to that thread and I want important info, or I want to share something important with a PARTICULAR person. As for giving out my real first name and birthdate. I won't be. My username will suffice. And, I personally don't see the relevance of revealing one's birth date on a discussion forum. I really don't. Happy posting and thanks again for the welcome!

True. But if you're knowledgable about something and you really know the answer than age isn't always important. I think it's good when we don't always know someone's age on a discussion forum because then we won't be biased. What if a 20something man answered a 40something man's question about a part on a vintage washer. And, the reason he could answer the question is because restoring vintage washers is a hobby of his or he owns one and has worked on it. Yes, toggleswitch there's truth in what you're saying, but there's truth in what I'm saying, too.

I'm with Steve, and have been watching this thread for a little while and thought it was time to post. We're a very close-knit, trusting group on here, and it wouldn't do any harm whatsoever if you just gave us your real name & age. Personally I think anyone who doesn't is a just a bit strange as there are many younger members on here who have (including myself)...but, hey, it's your decision.

I wouldn't consider this your "garden-variety" appliance discussion board either. Right, Toggle? ;-)

And I meant that in a positive fashion; it's a place where all your wildest (appliance-related) dreams can come true...

To rayjay. There were two types of Instant Fels. One was soap granules and the other was detergent. The company discontinued the instant soap granules first and then the detergent. Someone posted that they had seen the Instant Fels at Big Lots the closeout store. I also have read of some people purchasing the Instant soap granules at old country stores. So go figure.

Not on your life. Guess you can call me strange. The internet is the public. Strangers. And, strange people like me NEVER FORGET THAT.
