Bad Fill Valve

So I had replaced the fill valve on my Ultra Wash when I got It about 2 or so years ago since it was struggling with underfilling. Just last week now, the valve appears to have completely failed, as it will not let any water in whatsoever. Am I just unlucky that a relatively new part would fail that soon or is there something else I should look at before replacing it.

I chomped through 2 valves for my former Maytag DU401, a 1989 model, in rapid succession.  The new one I used to replace the original Maytag valve went *pow* after a mere 8 months... The second one was still working when I scrapped the machine however.   Modern parts, alas, are not always of the highest quality...

Was it a genuine FSP part or a knock off?

Check the strainer at the inlet to the valve. These block up and stop water flow. (all machines, not specific to your Kenmore.)
