I have been looking for a dishwasher and older one . I am tired of these 50 watt dishwasher pumps.
It's just like the one my Mom bought years ago, electronic everything.
The one we had almost caught fire I had to destroy it to get the smoking to stop.
She threw it away.
I was wondering what was it that was the source of fire I have heard its the rinse agent?
This lady is one of those who only used it once a year if that she
is of thinking they don't clean as well as hand washing.
That dishwasher and the Kds-21 was the best cleaning I have ever had .
That tower system was great in it.
Was there alot of fires with this?

I had this same dishwasher except it had the digital time display. It was an a outstanding machine...quiet, cleaned anything, spotless everything even with hard water. I never had a problem until they came to do the recall repair on the rinse agent dispenser. About a week later, the control board shorted out. Of course, they said there was no relation but I had my doubts.

I bought the portable version of this machine brand new and it's holding up great.  I always use "light wash" with no temp boost and no heated drying, and everything comes out sparkling clean.  The light wash cycle runs about 52 minutes.

Over the years I've had to replace the silverware basket (the replacement is a stronger improved design), and a plastic piece of the door latch cracked, which was an easy fix with plastic epoxy from the hardware store.

We had a machine a step down from this one (well, still do, can't force myself to throw it out) and I'm going to echo above- it was relatively quiet, would clean ANYTHING even in hard water, dried everything beautifully and held a lot.. It was a wonderful dishwasher. Sadly the timer went on ours (no electronic controls) and it no longer drains at the end of the cycle. I have had 3 machines since and none have cleaned or dried as well.
