basic gas dryers

Hi, I am looking to replace my 11 year old whirlpool gas dryer. looking for a basic gas dryer,Whirlpool Roper Amana or Kenmore. all made by Whirlpool. any information would be very helpful.And a low priced dryer. Thank You.

Bob, what's wrong with the dryer?  Why getting rid of it after 11 years.  Now is a great time to be buying a new one though--4th of July sales.  Home Depot has a basic Amana dryer for $498; the Roper cousin at Lowes is $499, both on sale for $100 off list price.

You're looking for the right makes.  Now you just need to find one for what you consider to be the right price. 

 

Whether there's any such thing as basic anymore, I don't know.  You won't likely find a lower end model on display anymore, even at Sears, so you may have to check manufacturer web sites to see the full range of models and perhaps place a special order through a retailer or Amazon for the model you want.

Ralph, the two models I cited are the lowest in the Amana & Roper lines.

Thanks Bob.  All I ever see at Lowe's and HD are nearly TOL machines, but I suppose the lower priced ones are there, just not up front and center.

 

As you asked above, if there's something wrong with the current dryer, it could be an easy fix.

Bob, Best Buy has the same Amana dryer priced at $499 also.  Ralph, I just went directly to both web sites and selected gas dryers lowest to highest price and the ones I cited were the least expensive, the next priced model up was a GE at both Lowes & HD.

why not shop used appliance shops and pick another one just like your current model...

there are places located all over NJ, NY and PA.....

we have a local dealer here who is specific to selling the DirectDrive washers and dryers....offering delivery and a full 1 year warranty, at no additional charge.....

Might want to read the "Talk about junk" thread before forking over hard earned cash for new dryer these days.

I'd consider Yogitunes advice, a good older machine can be had for a fraction of the cost new.
$400 plus tax is a lot of money for something that may or may not crap out in few years.

Some friends of mine purchase a Whirlpool built 29 inch gas dyer around 2014. A couple of years later it cost them $300 in repairs, (yeah they probably got ripped off a little). About a year after that it died again, I advised to cut their losses and get a new 29 incher, we'll see how long that one lasts.

I would also advise going vintage maybe models differ in the us exemple pic is an electric dryer but I am sure in the us under the whirlpool brand you will find a gas dryer or a basic halo of heat maytag gas dryer to name a few brands

I can't see any reason to buy a Roper, really low build quality, pay a few more $ and get a mid line product.  

 

I agree what is wrong with the dryer the OP posted about, odds are it's better quality than any of the cheap ones they are looking at.
