I'd like to have seen the outer cabinet with a paint/trim option like that of the inside freezer door. The only one of these I've ever seen in person was pink. It was just too late 50s wedding cake-ish for my taste.
i dig on the freezer door design. and i like the stove. i'm not really into dishwashers (yet) but this one does look nice. i like the way the chrome trip at the top of the dishwasher, has a sort of "dip" in the center, which i'm guessing is the handle for opening the dishwasher??
Jason-- I suppose we don't see a lot of Frigidaire's charcoal color because it was on offer at a time when pastels were popular. So many brands were pushing sunshine yellow, candy pink, powder blue, and mint green. Charcoal would go over in a big way, today; GE's new gray is certainly doing well.
Oh wow... I'm having to clean the drool up off of my desk. That set is beautiful!!! I love the pattern on the bottom of the stove, fridge and the freezer door.
Stephanie, the Frigidaire 'Sheer Look' appliances are, in my opinion, the nicest looking appliances. They're so swanky and have so much chrome. They were beautifully styled!
They were advertised on Craigslist for $450 and I contacted the seller about it saying that I was mostly interested in the dishwasher. The seller contacted me recently to ask if I was still interested in the dishwasher and I said I was. She told me she probably had a buyer for the fridge alone. I asked how much she was asking for the dishwasher and she didn't get back to me.
I still hope she does get back to me but I guess that won't happen.
