You're right Nick.

I think I would buy one of these rather than Brand New.

Although all the Energy Saving do dads the new machines have and all that Energy Saving/ Water Saving Crap, I personally would think these Older Classics would be more trouble free than all the Computerized Circuit Board stuff they make today.
