Old Kenmore Washer with
Yes, there was one similar to my Parent's Kenmore Washer on one of the Guy's Photo Gallery's. I can't remember which one has it, but theirs has the Rotary Knobs for the Water Level and Water Temp, where my Parent's had Push-Buttons and mine did as well. The Guy's has the Rear Opening Lid, like my Parent's Kenmore had. The Timer Back Cover was Blue Color with a Silver Ring around the outer area and it had a White Plastic Based, Silver Pointer Control Knob, to show the Cycles. I also remember the noise, but can't discribe it, that the older Timer's made when they moved thru the Cycles, instead of being smooth and silent running as they are now. They didn't have the Matched Dryer, they had the 1950 Westinghouse Slanted-Front, with a Solid Black Center, with Westinghouse in White Lettering where the Window would be on the other Model's. It had all Auto Drying, without any Timed and you pulled the Timer Know out to Start the Dryer. The Lint Container was Square and sat on the outside of the Rear of the Dryer and it would "POP" opened to remind you to clean it out, after every Load of Launday. It also had only a High-Heat and unfortunately, it didn't play "How Dry I Am" when it completed the Drying of the Laundry. Later on in 1962, they bought a Hotpoint Dryer to replace the Westinghouse, when the Heating Element went out. I think that Robert has a similar Hotpoint Dryer to the one my Parent's had, except for a slightly different Console, but the same style. The Hotpoint Dryer had a Trap-Door on the Drum, to allow you to open it to clean the outer area between the Inner Drum and the outer Housing and a full-size Lint Screen, behind a separate pull-down Door, below the Drum Opening Door. We all forgot to clean it out once in a while and we would all of a sudden smell the Lint Burning, so we then cleaned the Screen out and started the Dryer again, to complete the Drying.
