Bette Midler sings for the queen of England- there has to be some irony there!

Bette Midler with Jake Shimabukuro - In My Life 7 December 2009 The Royal Variety Performance 2009 Opera House Theatre Blackpool Lancashire, England

Very sparse and quite beautiful arrangement. Never know a uke could sound so nice!

Bette sure has had an interesting career.

Ms Bette's our very own Iconic pin up girl. Started her career in bath houses, and sang for the Queen. Now that's an American story. I still come close to sobbing when i hear "Wind beneath My Wings". If you remember her "Thighs and Whispers" album (b4 cd's), There was a song called "millworker" it truly captures the sentiment of a shop girl in a factory setting. I have it on CD now and its a good listen, on a car trip. alr2903
