Anybody here watch her last Saturday??? for some strange reason, all the clips of that particular show have been banned from the internet. anyone know what's up??? Could it have been her "muffin"?

Not her muffin as much

as NBC's policy.

I did catch her death metal turn on "Thank You For Being a Friend" on YouTube. The cast of SNL did a sweet, heartfelt version for her, and she did a death metal version for them. It might be gone now. However, look for "Betty White Thank You For Being a Friend SNL," or mix those up. IF it hasn't been pulled from YouTube, it should be there.

I haven't regularly watched SNL since the Carvey/Myers/Nealon years, but I wish I had seen this.

Otherwise, next year, this will probably be out on dvd. NBC is a lot like P&G when it comes to money.

Folks, the whole show is on NBC's website. You can see clips or the whole thing from start to finish. It is copyrighted so it won't last on YouTube, etc., for long, but you can see it here:

You make a good point Andrew. Typically what I've noticed is NBC will post most shows for about 15 days or so. By that time no one really gives a crap anyway as they are bewildered by the latest shinny object on the flatscreen.

Hulu usually follows suit.

Miss. White Was A Hoot!

That's what I say, a hoot!

Her opening monologue was fantastic, especially the bit about Facebook ("a huge waste of time.... in my day we had the phone book, but you wouldn't want to spend an afternoon with it").

There was still that special twinkle in Miss. White's eyes since I can remember seeing her on TV. Everything from Eunice's sister, to Sue-Ann Nivens to Rose Nylund.

Sue Ann Niven lives!

She was fabulous! I missed the opening monologue because, loser that I am, I was busy on the computer, something to do with appliances.

I was touched and a bit verklempt at how many SNL alums showed up to be a part of her tour de force. Bravo to her! What a great career to a hard working survivor. Alan is probably up in Heaven beaming. I especially enjoyed the Census taker skit.

Robert and I watched it on NBC.com last night while eating dinner.. We were both laughing so hard, we could barely chew our food.

She really is an incredible woman... I totally agree, Laundress. She definitely had a twinkle in her eye.

I loved how they presented with her flowers at the end of the show.

My favorite Betty White performance was her appearance on an episode of "Malcolm in the Middle".

White played the "other" wife of the family's now deceased patriarch, opposite the incomparable Cloris Leachman as the other widow.

White's best line: "Oh, we don't get angry. We're Canadian"...

LOL!

Miss. White's Comments About Facebook

Came because (in case anyone didn't know), it was a Facebook write in that got Betty White on the show.

Miss. White was going on about until SNL contacted her and told her about the thing and Facebook, she hand't really been bothered.

"Oh my friends are always trying to get me to go on (Facebook)", said Miss. White. "It's a great way to reach old friends", Miss. White said her friends tell her. Then she chimed in "at my age if I want to reach old friends I need a Ouija board"! *LOL*

I fell out laughing.

I, too, thought White did an admirable job on SNL. As for her bits being "the same joke over and over", that's been the modus operandi with SNL for years. They take a joke, repeat it for 5 minutes, and voila: a sketch! Sometimes it works, other times...not so much.

On reflection, as I now recall, Betty White's words as Malcolm's putative step-grandmother are, in response to Lois saying "you must hate us by now"...

"Oh, we don't hate. We're Canadian." (said brightly with that classic Betty White twinkle in her eye)...

Betty did a great job

And can Betty curse; just like a sailor! I know her late husband is up in Heaven laughing his ass off. We love you Betty.

I think NBC, noticed the ratings bump. Betty IS a Television Star, as well as a Great American treasure. alr2903

isnt it great...

that the country became obsessed with an old time veteran actress... there were so many forgotten stars that went into hiding thinking they were not wanted, or no one was interested in them. it would have been terrific to have them get in front of the camera and give us some great entertainment before they moved on...
betty was terrific and i am haappy this attention is on her.

Yes, Betty White is one of kind! Don't forget to watch her new tv series titled HOT IN CLEVELAND on TV Land coming in June.
