But wait there's more

The SS mixer cup is original and it too looks like it was only used a month of Sundays.
The inside and the outer bottom edge tell the story there. Usually there are agitator marks on the inside because in a Bar or Soda shop Baristas are rushing around getting things so nicks occur naturally. And being in use commercially you always see wear along the bottom outside edge (the foot) of the SS cups. Not on this baby!
Whahoo!

Black is beautiful

Jon:

IMPRESSIVE

Like a classic black cocktail dress, this is a must for one's "wardrobe".

GAWGEOUS, SLEEK, REFINED, CLASSIC... and the stick blender aint bad, neitha!

I never knew,,,

The HB drink mixers had a bakelite mixing cup. I have seen stainless, but never bakelite. What an incredible find - like out of a time capsule! Congratulations!!

That machine looks stunning in black & chrome. My Aunt Doris has one, but it's the usual light green, and not in as good a shape. She got it from her brother-in-laws restaurant, so it had been well used. You were very fortunate to find one so pristine. I wonder if Hamilton Beach made the stainless cup, or if perhaps Vollrath or Polar Ware did it for them, all being based in Wisconsin.

That's just gorgeous!

I'm sure you don't just use them for milkshakes and malteds, can you share some of your favorite drinks and uses for this pretty new toy?

I must have that same "disorder" we talked about the other day - approx. 15" tall, shiny, lights, makes noise ----- and I want one!

I appreciate the posts all

Hunter, you can come have a blended Margarita in it, or top of line salad dressing on your salad, or I'll make you a fluffly egg omelette or quick Buckwheat pancakes with it. No lactose there!

I keep calling it it. Most of my appliances announce their gender to me but this piece comes across as completely both.
Odd, never seen that behavior before in a small electric.
Anyone else seen this??

I got a response from the seller today

HERE IS WHAT HE SAID VERBATIM:

Hi Jon, Thanks for the email and the great eBay feedback, I appreciate that .... and have reciprocated with the feedback. Glad to know that it arrived safely. It came from a Seattle Lake Washington waterfront estate last fall. One of the neighbors had purchased the property (for $5 mil) and the house was scheduled to be torn down, although it looked perfectly fine to me. The place was built in the early 1950s. They had money and bought only the best. That's about all I know Jon. Thanks once again. Best regards, Dan

Soda Jerk

I watched Ethel Waters make milkshakes in a row of 4 Hamilton Beach machines as a kid. You got a glass poured full of Milkshake, Malt, Freeze or Frappe and the contents of the canister to finish off. The moisture of the condensation of icy contents held the paper wrapper of the straw stuck to the cup. Ethel was short and had a button nose which meant her glass looked they were just about to fall off as she stretch to reach over the sink and place the milkshake on the counter. We traveled miles going in circles on the bar stool while we waited for her to finish. Thank you for bringing back such delicious memories and a time when life felt easier and we had time to sit at the counter in the drug store and shoot the breeze with any and all who came in.

Jon, what a fantastic addition to your collection. (Rumor has it your other mixers were lonely) and are so happy to have a new addition to the family. One day you will be able to have a great milkshake party!!
Terry

Kelly that reminds me, yeah, some places they filled your glass and then gave you the SS cup to finish off. As a kid it always left you wondering what was gonna happen to the stuff leftover in the places that didn't give you the SS cup to finish off the remains LOL
