It has been a few months since I obtained a Blackstone 250 from the early 1950's. It had to go the shop for plenty of work. The mechanic, Dr. Manny invited me to the shop today to see the progress. New outer tub is in place, cabinet sprayed, inner tub still being soaked to remove years of gunk.
The machine is making progress and hope to have it back home for Tucson Wash In 2007.

Black scratch fever--and i got it bad

Only big name/ big guns machine I've never experienced. Is it true that some models some years had a HOT rinse. Gentlemen and Ladies, is this simply a case of lusting after what we don't have, or is a Blackstone Automatic Washing Machine truly the cat's meow and to die for? Are there any flix or pix around?

Blackstones had infinite water temperature selection. The rotary dial on the left front panel allowed mixing the water temperature from cold to hot, or anywhere in between. If you want a hot rinse, just leave it on hot.

Great pictures in this thread.

Jon,
I know what you mean about heat burning off from something new. Wednesday, I got to fire up my new direct vent gas heaters for the first time. I had to open the windows, and have a fan blowing out. There is still a noticeable aroma in the air. After waiting two months for the gas line to be installed, the heat sure feels good.
