Bob-load of dishes again!

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Chachp, now THAT looks like a dishwasher I would have loaded up! So satisfying when everything actually comes out clean after being crammed into a machine that way, but I can attest that my 16 year old KA can do a similar load and have everything come out spotless, including the stemware!

I think maybe I'm going to need to pull my camera out on Thanksgiving. We should see plenty of Bob Loads posted here starting 11/24, don't you think?

Ralph

Yes, we will.!

We aren't having Thanksgiving this year so there won't be any Bob loads at our house. As a matter of fact, we are going to my SO's Aunt's house and she doesn't even have a dishwasher believe it or not. I suspect we will be eating on plastic or paper of some sort.

rp2813 - What model Kitchen Aid do you have? Is it one with the multi level wash?

Ralph

Chachp, you're Ralph too? This could get confusing . . .

My KA is more of a BOL model: KUDI220T. Almost thought I was going to have to tackle some repairs on it recently when the lower wash arm assembly wasn't turning freely. My own fault. I hadn't replaced the removable filter assembly below it just right so snapped it into place better and all is well again. In 16 years it has never needed a single repair.

I really do enjoy putting this machine through its paces.
Also felt validated over the weekend when I toured an open house (asking price $1.4M) and found what appeared to be my same model KA in that kitchen. Geez, for that kind of money you'd expect all new appliances, but this is Sillycon Valley and you find fixer-uppers going for that price. Nothing shocks me anymore when it comes to real estate around here.

Happy Thanksgiving to all and wishing everyone who packs a Bob Load many happy returns to a sparkling finished job when you lower that door.

Ralph too!

rp2813, now I AM insulted. That KUDI22 is MORE THAN WORTHY of being in a $1.4M house. SOMEONE recognized TRUE quality and performance!!! The KUDI22 is NOT a BOL model, the KUDC22 IS!!

again

considering the horribly rudimentary racking in the Haier...i think i outdid myself this time! I got the whole day's dishes in minus 1 large mixing bowl.

John, I wonder if you'd have put one of those Revere saucepans on top of the silverware basket (which I very often do), you could have gotten the mixing bowl in. And BTW, another Bobload certification for you!!!

Re: KUD1220T

Bob, I stand corrected. I've never seen another KA model with fewer buttons than mine and just assumed I had one that was nearer the BOL than TOL. It definitely LOOKS like it could be in a $1.4M home, but I think most KA's can pull off that substantial appearance.

Like I said above, after 16 years of service mine has not needed any repairs or provided any reason to replace it, and has made plenty of Bob loads sparkle over the years. It's a keeper and I apologize for insulting both you and the machine!

I was teasing with the insult thing, although I'll have to ask the dishwasher.

The custom would have rinse & hold and normal cycle and probably the energy save switch.

Trying for a Bob load !

Hi Since getting my Bendix dishwasher I have been trying to do a Bob load photo. I had been away for 2 days with with work and forgot the dishwasher was 1/2 full , so after cooking a meal, managed to fill it with everything except the roasting tin ( these are not high quality and the dishwasher blasts off the non stick coating )

When I cook a meal even for 1 or 2 people I tend to use every spoon bowl etc so I would never be without a dishwasher.

Here the kitchen before loading , a mess !

And the bottom!

The bottom is harder as the centre has to be kept clear to allow upward water to go in to the upper arm, and it should have 2 cuttlery baskets, also the prongs are further apart than more modern machines but you can wedge a tea plate in between two dinner plates in the centre section. There are lids and steamer bits under the white Kenwood mixer bowl! And 2 pans under the plastic steamer at back right.

The front

Here is what it looks like from the outside , i still have not painted it yet, and on this occasion i used programe 3 at warm temperature, as although i did not pre rinse it was not dirty , ( we ate everything off the plates so no need to pre rinse !) Warm is 50 c i think and takes just a little longer than my bendix washer to do a warm wash when a 12min wash is selected. Both going together is music to my ears!

By the way no offence but who is Bob? can we see a picture , why does he like big loads? i am a fan of them in dishwashers and my Mam recons i would win awards if it were a national contest!

Bye

Richard

innuendo city!!

" A woman walked in to a bar and asked the barman for a double entendre (not sure if spelling correct) ... so he gave her one!! "

Hi rp2813 i did nearly ask about big loads in a tongue in cheek manner , but was not sure if it would be deemed unsuitable, but glad PC police not here and a bit of harmless fun still abides!

and thanks appnut its official i will hang a certificate on the wall!!!

Richard ( a big load fan !)
