Here is my latest acquistion. Got this beauty in Phoenix over the weekend but first have to change electric cord before I can plug it in. It is 1950 Kenmore and I hope to have it ready for Tucson Wash In end of March.

Nice!

Nice picture, Ross!

Yes, this machine is delightfully cute and compact. It appears to be fully automatic, but we're working on replacing the cord so we can find out. At first blush, it appears to have a timed fill, which is very intriguing for a perforated-tub Kenmore.

Congratulations Ross! What a neat machine, it brings back lots of good memories for me. Our next door neighbor had that machine and it was always a favorite. Terry

Timed fill is normal----my "Frog-Eye" even has a timed fill. I think the early Kenmore's had to be bolted down because they lacked a suspension system. I'm sure someone will correct me if this theory incorrect, but it would seem to make sense to me.

WOOHOO!!! CONGRATULATIONS Ross on an awesome machine...and in beautiful shape too! Keep us posted on the condition!

One of the reasons I think these bolt-down Kenmores are cool is that the elimination of a suspension system allows the tub opening to be completely round...no more loading frustration and you can see the action all around the tub on a full load! ;-)

frigilux-yes, i think it is original agitator...and very clean on spin tube NO RUST!!!...will be placing it next to two other bolt downs that i have...1947 bendix and 1962 slant front coin op (25 cents a wash)
brent-aucoin.....found machine in phoenix....warehouse with old stuff but most of it needs work
foraloysius...hi louis...machine is fully automatic...
chestermikeuk...machine is not light but neither are my other two bolt downs and without bolt downs they danced halfway across the room...
unimatic....nate is coming over tomorrow to change cord and we will try out machine...my garage is in the middle of painting to look nice for Tucson 2006 wash in next month.....

Oh, I do hope we can see more photos of this one. Never saw a Kenmore that old!
