was messing around and thought how would the Maytag helical would work with other Agitators.....this one can move some clothes...better than the powerfin

This was easier than I thought....I had a "load sensor" agitator that was broken, scrapped the spiral and inner workings, and cut the 4 blades off the bottom, re-installed in the maytag, and you would be suprised how many agitators will fit over the center shaft....here I have the GE FF straight vane...took three small screws thru the sides to keep in place, the GE spiral works best, also the Surgilator makes some nice action too!...I'm gonna try a Kenmore roto-swirl maybe, just to see what happens

AGITATOR CHANGES
You beat us to it Tom and I used talk about doing just what you did. We had figured out long ago that the power finn agitator was one of the major problems that caused the poor turn over in MT washers with the inability to even pull many loads under in the rinse cycle. The squared off finns were just too large for the narrow tub and caused too much clothing wear and turnover problems unless loaded lightly. Congratulations on your experiment I may have to try this myself.
