I only just found this series tucked away in a late Saturday night time slot on the Antenna TV channel. Seems that it ran for one season only in 1972.

There's a kitchen scene. I immediately recognize the black glass wall oven and hunter-green cabinets from "Bewitched." Then, I spy the gold side by side refrigerator from that same show.

In the opening credits, the main character is driving Darrin Stephens' pine green '72 Chevrolet Caprice.

Paul Lynde himself is recycled from "Bewitched", I suppose, since he was a recurring actor there.

Then, in the closing credits, I noticed that one of the producers is William Asher. That explains *that*.

I have seen rotating props in many instances (I have lost count of how many different sets the "Partridge Family" dishwasher has shown up on, f'rexample). But, I was amused by the apparent "clearance sale".

I was underwhelmed by the show, and can see why it did not last long. But, I may stick around for a few more episodes to see whether the Maytag dishwasher and the 808-series laundry equipment show up

Yes, it was a terrible show. While we are talking shows, has anyone ever seen if there was a range in Andy and Aunt Bea's kitchen? I am willing to bet on a 30" GE? The camera was always placed like it was on the same wall as the range because any food served seemed to come from behind the camera. I figured that the range would only show up in an odd shot of something like Aunt Bea making pickles or some other specialty. Maybe the range was not even a permanent part of the set.

Son-in-law: John Calvin of "Dallas" and "Magnum P.I." fame.

Ya know, I thought I recalled the range on "The Andy Griffith Show" being gas; but now that I recall, it actually was never shown.

Aunt Bea's kitchen

Originally depicted a 40" electric range. Appears to be a GE/Hotpoint model with burners gathered to the left of the range.

Later versions (Mayberry RFD, Mayberry Reunions, etc.) sometimes featured a gas range.

Yikes, those are flames!

OOH, with a deepwell Calrod element. Thank you Lawrence. I thought I had seen a glimpse of the range in the episode where Aunt Bea won the appliances on the quiz show and then sold them off from her kitchen, but it was a brief glimpse.

Paul Lynde and his "Driver"

When I was in college I worked at a hotel that was down the road from a dinner theatre that attracted some big names. The stars stayed at our hotel. I met people like Sally Fields, Vincent Price, Robert Reed (jerk) and many others one of whom was Paul Lynde. He was also a real jerk. He travelled with his "driver" and insisted on having adjoining rooms. The housekeepers used to chuckle about the bed in one of the rooms never getting used. Who was he fooling?

BTW, Sally Fields was as nice in person as she seems on TV. She would stop by the desk every night after her show to say hi and sometimes would stand there for a little while to just chat.
