Interesting. The website doesn't list it as a spare part yet - only the feeding tube comes up when you look the numbers up.

I would have expected for BSH to also introduce the PowerControl spray arm but it has remained a feature exclusive to Gaggenau over here.

Alexander, I thought the Power Control Spray Arm would have been in Europe by now. It's been here in the US for a year or so on the 800 & Benchmark series. I had difficulty connectig my LG washer & dryer to my WiFi when I got them in 2021. I don't remember how I got that done. The washer got disconnected and I've not been able to rEconnect it. Something about 2.4 GHz requirement for the appliances and I think Bosch Home Connect is the same way. And I"m not a happy camper. If I ever move, I'm probablhy going to have to have someone from Best Buy's Geek squad, or equivalent to set up my appliances on wifi. I hate that Bopsch has forced most of flexible options put on wifi/phone app control and I use those various options quite a bit for the ultimate flexibility and that control is with my control panel. NOT AN APP[this post was last edited: 10/7/2024-14:18]

I expected them to launch PowerControl at the IFA... but no.

My router is able to support both 2.4 and 5 GHz. I only have the 2.4 GHz frequency enabled because most of my electronics don't work in 5 GHz anyway. I connected the dryer by pressing the WPS button on the router, which worked fine.

True, some settings for PowerControl, as well as additional cycles are App-only. 🙄 I was just recently playing with the app and added a dishwasher in demo mode and wash surprised to a find a host of extra cycles: Quick Sanitize, Daily Magic (lol), Very Intensive, Ultimate Cleaning, Mixed Load and more.

I still have a landline telephone at my house and the phone service provides the basis for the router for my WiFi. And it's set for 5 GHZ and I haven't been able to figure out how to switch it to 2.4 GHz.

Yes, I'd be very curious how the additional/different cycles would show up on the US app. When I got my 800 series in 2021, it was the highest model of the 800 series right before the beginning of the Benchmark. The current equivalent PC model of my model only has Sanitize and Crystal Dry as options. My model options offer delay, half load, delicate, Sanitize, Eco, and CrystaL Dry. I have been known to select Auto as the cycle and the options half load, sanitize, eco, crystal dry and delicate for a less than full light soil load. I always want Crystal Dry as that gives me the drying results of one of our 1960s era dishwashers that essentially baked the dishes dry. I love that crystal dry gives me bone dry plastics very safely.

Seems like you'll need to check the manual or, these days, YouTube and enable the 2.4 GHz WiFi. Maybe that will do the trick.

Here are some of the cycles that came up while playing with the programme assistant feature.

It's about time they used a full spray arm instead of a sprinkler head, considering many cheaper brands use at least a miniature arm. I've often wondered how Bosch gets the silverware clean on tightly spaced third racks with just the sprinkler. Has it always been the same case on their upper tier brands like Gaggneau? At those prices I would have hoped it was not just a sprinkler.

The current Gaggenau dishwashers still have the sprinkler.

With Gaggenau, the racks have a little bit of extra adjustability (I think it's literally just one extra element) and run on telescoping rails with soft-close (like kitchen drawers). The lighting is also different. Other than that, they are pretty much identical to their Bosch counterparts (over here).

Power Control Spray arm

Perhaps the reason for its delay is possibly that it requires design tweaks.

Someone who has it is apparently less than impressed. Hopefully its not another Samsung Waterwall type design failure.

Wouldn't be surprised if it's the Finish Quantum he says he uses.

That detergent can suds quite a bit and these BSH DWs REALLY don't like sudsy detergent.
It's kind of a design "flaw" (though not really) as once they are done load sensing at the beginning, they don't really check water levels.
Thus sudsing can lead to massive cavitation.

But I think it's also price point and brand differentiation thing.

Shortly before I left BSH there were some changes in leadership and they wanted more brand differentiation between the brands.

So they might just keep it a Gaggenau thing just because.

All I can say is I BobLoad my Bosch regularly. I use Finish Classic for daily loads. September 2nd 2023, I ordred an 84 count tabs and as of htis morning, I still have 20 of those 84 left. I use Finish Quantum for the really bad loads. I've never had a dishwasher to tackle scrabled egg on a SS skillet until the Bosch. That's when the Quantum delivers.

My Bosch has the relatively short-lived MyWay 3rd rack. Unfortunately, that rack has been disconitnued. My model also came with a non-splitable bottom rack cutlery basket. I kept the splitable cutlery baskets from my old dishwasher and use one of those if needed. The 3rd rack has designated space for flatware that's arranged front to back rather than the traditional horizondal placement in the rack. I have slight cerbral palsey and coupled with the vision issue, it's difficult for me to place the cutlery in that designated space. It's the main reason I resisted Euro designed dishwashers. But I needed a new dishwassher at the height of Covid pandemic and only KA dishwashers available at the time were lowend and I won't accept lowend models, especial without the Flex-rack.
