The original hosefrom the mixer to tub fill in my Simpson Fluid Drive perished long ago, and I fabricated a replacement, which did the job, but meant I had to reposition the inner tub every time it filled, or both inner and outer tub received fresh from the mixer. This meant over filling, but I learned to live with it.
I recently was referred to a washing machine mechanic (retired) who fondly remembered the Fluid Drive and was able to supply me with a replacement!
There is an aluminium tube which joins the rubber hose, and I found I'd kept the original, so after making sure the join was well-sealed ( with contact cement) and dried, I now am able to let the classic old machine do its business without interruption!
This photo hopefully shows the lengths we go to to make sure the old machines still work!
