Hey guys new to the forum...my friend is doing a clean out of a house that is like a time capsule. This house is amazing everything is untouched and they have an Insinkerator Classic Supreme Dishwasher basically new only used a few times. I was wondering if this is a good dishwasher. It is in absolute mint condition. How does it compare to current dishwashers? It is model # "WSSUP" I love the look

Its a beautiful looking machine. It seems so solid the door hinges to the tub to the baskets. I have a new Kitchen Aid but it doesnt do a great job. Does anyone have experience with this exact model? I think this one has the Whirlpool pump how does this compare to the Hobart pump?

Wow, wow and... WOW!

That is the machine of dreams. If only one just like this and this color would appear in Northern Nevada! This machine is a workhorse and will do the job you want for many years. You can have stainless panels cut to fit IIRC and they install very easily. Very nice find!

ISE = KitchenAid!

I have a Classic Supreme that's almost identical.  These are all re-badged KitchenAid dishwashers and while they weren't made by Hobart, they still remain true to Hobart's design although beginning with your model, Whirlpool hopped them up with their power module pump.  Many here say this combination of Hobart and Whirlpool technology produced one of the best vintage KitchenAid dishwashers a person can own.  I'm quite happy with mine, even though it pre-dates the power module pump.

Don't think twice.  Grab that machine and install it!  Based on it's virtually new condition, it will give you many years of reliable service.

Stainless panels are available.  Shop around.  I got mine from Sears parts and they ran close to $100.  I've since learned that they can be found for less, but can't recall exactly where.

Here's a shot of mine.

Wow that looks beautiful with the stainless it looks real modern and commercial at the same time. How hard to install? Do you think sears has more or very rare?

Stainless Steel Panels

They are a cinch to install, particularly if the dishwasher itself hasn't been installed under the counter yet.

I'm pretty sure Sears still has the panels, but check around, or use the "Searchalator" here and see what you can find in recent posts.  I think it wasn't all that long ago that there was a discussion about KitchenAid dishwashers and stainless panels, and that might be where I saw them cheaper.

You'll never find them using an ISE model number.  Use KitchenAid model KUDS21 instead, which is for a machine that takes the exact same panels.   If you need help locating a set, let me know.

You'll notice the door will be considerably heavier with the stainless panels installed.  You can either remove the other colored panels that are back there, or just use care when lowering the door.  As far as I know, the door springs can't be adjusted.

Just FYI, Emerson Electric spent $250K to come up with a latching system different from KitchenAid.  This was part of the agreement to allow Emerson to put the ISE badge on KitchenAid machines.  ISE's were priced lower than KitchenAids and therefore Whirlpool didn't want the two brands to look exactly the same.  It's a judgement call about which mechanism is more appealing.  When in the locked position, I prefer KitchenAid, but when unlocked, I prefer the look of the ISE.

thank you so much $79 is definently worth it to have it look like yours...looks better then new ones and probably cleans alot better too!

Those will work.

I have a 21 Series and purchased those exact panels for mine and they fit perfectly. I bought mine through one of those on line houses like appliance zone for about the same price as the eBay listing above.

The are very easy to install. All you need is a screwdriver.

From what I'm told a hell of a lot quieter!!

Everyone has their preference and at the end of the day what matters is are the dishes clean when the machine is finished. In both the 18 and 21 they will be clean and done quickly compared to newer machines. These machines that take 1 1/2 plus hours to wash a load may do a pretty good job and may save a little energy but holy cow you could do two loads in this machine in the same amount of time as some of these newer machines. The only advantage to the newer Tall Tub machines is you may have a little more flexibility in loading but I'm good with the 21 in that category as well.

I don't think you would be unhappy with this machine.

It looks like a 23 clone to me, which I didn't notice at first glance and as a result edited my replies above.  The filter assembly in the sump indicates the power module design, which first appeared on the 23 series.

So Ralph, what's the deal with the eBay panels?  Do they end up going for about the same amount as the BIN price if someone chooses to bid on them instead, or is it simply worth it to go with the BIN option to be sure you won't be outbid?
