Whatcha wanna bet this is an overseas 220-volt-spec unit, and that's why it's unused after sitting so long Stateside?
I'd sure investigate the heck out of this before committing!

AMC Sold The Kelvinator Company to White Consoldiated
In 1968, so if this is indeed from the 1970's it is made by WCI.
The "Masterpiece" line was part of Kelvinator going back to the 1940's and fridges were sold on both sides of the pond.
Being that everything is printed in English and looks very "American 1970's) with the avocado green and other design elements that scream the era, am going to say if it is indeed a 220v appliance it was sold for export. Have seen many appliances from across the pond that never sold in the USA on eBay, but cannot imagine anyone moving house with a fridge of that size across the Atlantic. By the 1970's it would have cost dear to crate and move the thing just to get it to a point on the Eastern coast. It would then have to be shipped to that building.

I think what might have happened is that this unit was intended for one of the British retailers specializing in UK-spec American appliances. Occasionally, a 220-v Maytag top-loader or something similar will turn up over there; there was a small market for such things in the UK at one time. Perhaps it was American expats.
At any rate, I think this one might have been produced for that market, but just never wended its intended way thither, for whatever reason.

Regarding the 208v-240v expat trade for appliances, that is still going strong. There are places all over the US and or Internet that have 208v-240v 50hz appliances for export. Dishwashers, washing machines, fridges, etc... you name it.
One odd but interesting surprise was that American top loaders have a decent enough following in places like Israel and the Middle East.

Years ago, we got hold of a few WCI Gibson and Frigidaire refrigerators, that were destined for South America I believe, but somehow ended up at the local distributor. They were set up for 220V. Our service guy took one home, and put an air conditioner plug on it, and used it in his garage. I think it's still going.
Very much a "corporate stablemate" of the Philco/Ford PHridge (w/o the 'Product Of American Motors' tag) and wonder if anything like Norge, Admiral and Western Auto (maybe even Mont. Ward) would be made similar...
Too much of an underdog to compete w/ anything by Amana, Whirlpool, Westinghouse, GE & Frigidaire--as those makes have been proven more popular, hence more vintage well-kept models on the used market await!
As for the 220v adaptation, my wife's sister-in-law has a 70's Maytag pair (which like all those ads seems to have washed & dried her large family's so DEPENDABLY!--and they, I remember being just Reg. Capacity...!) so they've been modified for voltage in Israel; the washer & electric dryer have the funky plugs for the outlets used there...

Also: where is the condenser located (front or back?) and what is cleaning it like?
I'm sure it's not a coil on the back; what few of these fridges in person, I've seen can be flush to the wall, as the back is coil-free...
But do you clean behind the toeplate grill or have to pull this fridge to clean behind it at the bottom?
