On these cool Michigan evenings, sometimes Ralph and I will have breakfast for dinner...it just seems to make us feel good!

Here are some savory-salty-sweet pancakes that are good for just such an occasion, but also great for brunch (washed down with Mimosas!)

Makes Me Feel Good

I have to agree. There is something comforting about having breakfast for dinner. And this is sure a time when our country could use some comforting!

I LOVE your sunny yellow and quaint kitchen.  The wall fixture and wallpaper is perfect.

And your choice of music, very classy.

The website too, .. charming.

Nice!!!

My dad would cook on Friday evenings, and we would have breakfast foods.Like you say how comforting,Dad would make the best fried potatoes and onions. Scrambled eggs, wheat toast, slab bacon.Or french toast from large brown eggs.Gosh it seems like yesterday,YOU really miss them when they are gone. Our Lamda car club stopped by one Sat afternoon Dad was home he was in heaven with old cars and cooked steaks and potatoes for everyone and salads he made his own dressing. So good and seems like so long ago! How I miss Him!!!!!!

Corn cakes . . . yummmy!

Kevin, yours look wonderful. Our Southern version is much plainer and normally served with BBQ. Just add butter & salt and we're good to go.

Fried potatoes & onions . . . more yummm! I grew up on those. And they had to be cooked in a cast iron skillet.

I love having breakfast for dinner also!   My Mama used to make fried potatoes and onions also.  She would cut them up, season them, then dredge them in flour before frying them.  I can still taste them.  Don't know about the rest of the South, but here in SC we love our shrimp and grits for summer.  When I lived in Charleston SC most of my co-workers raved about having fish and grits for supper with the fried catch of the day and slow cooked grits.   Your corn pancakes look so good!  I'll have to try these too.  Thanks!

Daddy

My dad is imposible to feed.  He only eats if it contains cured pork, sharp cheese, fried onions or combinations there of if as long as its all fried in more grease.  He'll love these. Your so smart to send us away from AWorg to to Cavalcade to dull down criticisms here and so sad anyone as genuine, good and pure in offering their gift as you would have to spend a moment considering such.  Merry Christmas to you and Ralph.
