Hi gang

I`m right back from a little vaccation in Florida. Of course I had to do some loads at the Laundromat. They had a lot of different machines to choose from. Sorry but I have not taken any pictures. My favourite was a vintage GE Filterflow, but there was no more filterpan. The turnover was amazing even with a large load and I found it very gentle on clothes compared to some other toploaders. Unfortunately hot water was only warm, so everything had to be done in hot.

I bought a small bottle of Oxydol instead of using premeasured packs of powder from the vending machine.

After finishing the first load I was quite impressed that a pair of white sport socks came out almost sparkling clean.
Funnily enough the following two loads were rather dissapointing in the "cleaning department".
I also found it faded my dark clothes a little, maybe it`s only my imagination.

Is there some kind of oxygen bleach in it, or is it just that much loaded with OBAs ? What you guys think ?

I left the rest of the bottle in the States but would probably buy it again to freshen up things like beach towels as you can`t beat the price.

I don't think the bottle tells you, but as I recall it's just optical brighteners. I don't remember seeing any liquid with actual oxygen bleach. There HAVE been a bunch of different versions.

The brighteners are probably why your darks looked faded.

Guess you`re right. It was probably just the optical brighteners and the neon lamps in the Laundromat.
I also recall the directions advised it as a pretreater undiluted which wouldn`t make sense if there were any strong bleaching agents in it.
