You do like your 1950s stuff dont you :) LOVE the lamps! But I must say it all looks great :) It will be out with the hard board and panel pins next to cover up "old fashioned" panel doors LOLOLOL

Do you have the fridge and cooker connected? I have been surprised by how many of those Bellings crop up - there have been a quite a few on ebay recently. Is that a Perido TV? Sorry for the inquisition

Wow

Hi James that looks fab, it's has a great feel, I'm moving in! Did you say you were in a flat? I'm assuming stairs? I get you or your friends or moving men were delighted to lift those appliances up stairs , they were built like tanks in those days.

Well done

Richard

Burco D3 & D3R

Welcome James, you have a beauty of a classic dryer there, its not often I say I like the revamped look (the rest of the gang rib me mercilessly about banging on about original features) but in this case it really has worked brilliantly.....love your home as well,

Just dug out the spares list for this dryer, the D3R is rear venting, D3 front venting.

Burco D3 & D3R

Dont you just love when manuals had headers with "Nomenclature" - meaning list of calalogue parts etc, in them...from another time!!! I do have other Burco manuals when any of you need them, washboilers, drying cabinets, wringers & twintubs.

James hope this is useful, is this to be a working dryer or for show use??

Cheers, Mike

...

As of right now the fridge and cooker are not hooked up, but are in working order. I bought them for the day I am able to have my own place where I can put them to good use.

Yes, I do live in a flat on the 2nd floor, and it was definitely a task getting the fridge and cooker up, but the Burco was relatively light compared to the other two!

The TV is a period shell. It is an RCA Victor Deluxe from the states (im half american so I go back and forth to visit my mum and find some great things in antique and junk shops there). I Gutted the black and white TV and put in a colour screen so I can watch TV and DVDs normally, but keep that 50s look;)

Thank you for uploading the manual. How helpful, and interesting the difference in rear and front venting systems. I will also have to check out a car shop to see if I could get some similar belts so it runs a tad more efficiently.

I plan to use the Burco as my home dryer. Right now it has some blue jeans tumbling away, so hopefully here starts a good new life for this dryer in my home! With all 50s/60s appliances I always want to get them working as an everyday part of my home, so as of yet I dont have any static display electronics.

Initially I have been looking for an English Liberator washer and dryer (Mk1) Which I still hope to find some day, but I saw this and thought it was a good find till I am able to get those for the flat.
