Still can’t figure out why this dryer doesn’t power up when plugged in. Only thing that seems to run is the timer motor and that’s about it. The motor or burner doesn’t engage at all and I know the motor works since it worked when it had the 306 timer in. Everything appears to be wired up correctly, am I missing something? Wired it up exactly like the way I was supposed to. Even checked everything to be sure nothing became loose. Anyways, I am a bit stumped.

Have you verified that the timer itself is functioning properly? Is it actually receiving voltage from the outlet? Grab a multimeter and trace out the electrical pathways from the outlet to the motor. If the timer is receiving a voltage but isn't sending it to the motor when it should, then there is your problem. I would also check the start switch and door switch too and verify they are working properly.

The timer is NOS, but I might swap another one I have I got from that appliance junkyard in Arizona to see if that changes anything.

Update

Essentially disconnected everything from the timer. Going to try wire up everything again to see if it that’s were my discrepancy was. Thinking I didn’t wire the start relay in hence why it doesn’t do anything when plugged in. Will play with it tomorrow to see if I can get it to work.

Here’s a question I have, did any of the 407 HOH dryers ever come with a start relay? Maybe that’s what is throwing me off with this debacle.

Update II

Managed to get the DG407 working this evening, had to mess with the start switch inside the timer and connect the wire from the door switch to the correct terminal on the timer. Huge thanks and should out to Ben for helping get it sorted out and working.
