Hi All,
I feel the need to find a Raytheon Speed Queen washer/dryer pair. I see them every now and then, from the mid-eighties, I'm guessing. When did Raytheon sell SQ, and how were these machines? It seems they were the only washer with the SS tub at the time. The ads tooted a 210 degree agitation stroke. Is the alliance SQ a better machine? My aunt had a '65 SQ solid tub coppertone TOL and it ran like a tank until she moved in 1990 and left it behind. It had a timed fill. Should I bother with a Ratheon SQ pair?

Upstate NY is the place to look for SQ's. For some reason they sold a ton of them up there. Be glad to share if/when I find a pair!

just sold one

I just sold my Raytheon built coin-op SQ. Got good money for it and the machine was mint and works perfectly. Hated to see it go but just don't have the room and needing to thin out the collection. Seemed like a very well built machine. Appeared to work almost identical to the older Maytags.

agree with jet

yea, I NEVER find an SQ around here, once in a blue moon, an 80's one but never a vintage one. Tons of WP / Kenmore still pop up all the time.
