A couple weeks ago,helped my neighbor knock apart a 1982 Terry Taurus 23'camper trailer that he had smacked into a guardrail damaging the trailer all along the side.besides the accident damage,the camper had a lot of wood rot from damaged roof leaking.I salvaged all usable parts and materials including a neat little SS finish Magic Chef range,Dometic ammonia refrigerator,30a DC converter,retrofitted 1999 vintage Duo Therm roof AC,water heater,and Duo Therm furnace.Some of these items will end up in my backyard observatory project.Owner converted chassis of camper into a flatbed trailer.Dc converter salvaged is not regulated,but a 50A one I got from another camper wreck features "Ferroresonant"regulation-a 3rd coil on the transformer connected to a couple oil capacitors can be seen.

I remember Duo Therm making kerosene room heaters and oil hot air furnaces for a house in the 60's.

our 1974 mobile home had a duo therm-I remember having to relight the pilot on that a few times using a wad of burning paper on a coat hanger wire-the furnace taken from the camper has a standing pilot,but there is a manual piezo ignitor for easy pilot ignition.

Yes, the kerosene room heater models had a constant level and you had to light a pilot with a thing like yours before you could start the burner. Camper furnace must be propane gas. Your original furnace could have been either. As long as it did not make a Big poof when you lit it, it was kerosene.
