For you, Frontloadotomy,
The first electric was a 1964 inch BOL GE at home.
I lived in a series of apartments in school.
Bought my first house with my first wife, 1n 1972, First Stove, a Frigidaire Custom, 30 inch double oven range.
1974, divorced, first stove a 1963 Custom Imperial with French Doors. Traded it to My uncle and bought a really beat up 1961 30 inch Flair. Sold it and in 1975 bought a Frigidaire avocado green Corning Top Touch Control Custom Imperial Range. A fabulous tribute to esthetics and design.
Moved to Indiana. Bought a 1975 30 inch TOL Hotpoint. Moved to Michigan. Had a condo with new 1977 TOL GE 30 inch double oven. Bought a house in 1979 and got the last new GM Custom Imperial 30 Inch double oven range.
Moved to a house with 1958 built in SS Westinghouse range top and wall oven.
Sold the house and bought a used 1963 Custom Imperial 30 Inch double oven with Flair oven on top.
Moved to Pennsylvania to a condo with late 70's MOL Kenmore 30 inch.
Moved to Washington and bought a used 1978 GE 30 inch single oven, micro combo. Loved combo cooking.
Moved to a house with BOL GE 30 inch single oven. Traded it out for a 1975 30 inch double oven Frigidaire Custom. Had the bakery then and found two used 1972 40 inch double oven Frigidaire Custom Imperial Ranges and 1958 Pink Frigidaire, double wall oven.
Moved to the coast and took one the 40 in Frigidaire double oven ranges.
Gave that range to mom and found a 1960 Flair, on a white base. A builder came to visit and told me about a stove like mine, going to the dump from a house remodel. It was a 1963 40 inch Custom Imperial Flair on a white base. Owned by a bachelor farmer who only used two burners. One oven had never been used and the other just had a few specks in it. Remodeled the kitchen around it and left it when we moved. Next house had an avocado GE cooktop and a Westinghouse double oven with glass doors that opened to the side. R/R the cooktop with a Thermador that had a Griddle/Broler and GE double self cleaning ovens.
Found a really Nice 1965 Frigidaire Custom Imperial Glass 30 inch double oven with the Flair oven on top.
Moved to the farm house and bought a 40 inch 1954 Frigidaire double oven with a deep well and the magnifying lighted window to look in and see the heat values.
Found a white, 1963 Custom Imperial bottom mount freezer/fridge and a matching 40 Flair Range. Even my wife, who could give a damn, said she felt like June Cleaver the day they were deliverd!
Moved to town and sold the 40 inch Flair and bought a 1960, white 30 inch Flair from an estate in Ohio. It shipped perfectly.
Moved to Seattle. The condo had a 1988 GE slide in. I don't like knobs at my knees, so I bought my first GE smooth top Spectra Range, in 2002. Loved it.
Moved/divorced and came to this condo with a TOL smooth top Kenmore. Let Home Depot take it away when they delivered the new 2004 GE smooth top. I didn't like the look of new higher backsplash and GE had added another return to the heating element which made it over brown. Sold it to a neighbor and bought a 2005 Maytag smooth top. It bakes better but I would never comprimise my principles to have another.
I you send me money, I promise not to give the same commentary on the other appliances.
Kelly
