Featuring Klementine!

What one wouldn't give to find a vintage NOS barrel of that Ariel. Actually came close once several years ago. Won an auction on eBay from a German seller offering international shipping. Final price of the Ariel detergent was only a few Euros (no one else bid, lucky me), however the shipping costs via DP was astronomical. Something around >$50 USA IIRC. Seller and I mutually agreed to allow one out of the thing as it was just impossible.

Thanks for sharing. Lovely :-)

Those cardboard barrels of laundry detergents brings me back memories from childhood.
I still have many of them in the cellar. (empty) Yes it would be nice to have it one full !

Ah yes, I remember those barrels as well. Along with them, you'd buy huge bottles of softener that was so diluted you would almost use one cup per load.

Just loived how those German Hausfraus

Get so worked up almost demanding Kochwäsche (boil wash).

What was Klementine's story anyway? I mean why was she always around these woman's home when it was time to do washing? Her counterpart Josephine the Plumber in USA was just that but she flogged Comet cleanser. That seems rather natural for a plumber who is around kitchen and bath fixtures. Do or did plumbers in Germany routinely go around giving laundry advice? Even the little girl in one clip is somewhat "un-nerved" by the impending arrival of Klementine.

Interesting that the packaging is different--these are roughly the same era, but in Germany round boxes and in NL rectangular. P&G pretty clearly moved the technology of the time around the world (looks like Dash was sold similar to Cheer (All-Tempa-Cheer) in that era. Amazing to contemplate that much difference in product between a land mass equivalent to a couple states in the US.

Why was Klementine always in people's homes? Why shouldn't she? *lol*

Why do these people carry detergent around?

And where is that witch getting all her boxes from?

Is it new? No, washed in Perwoll!
