Hi Everyone:

We have a soapstone slab as the countertop in our master bathroom. We routinely clean it with a product designed for cleaning stone. It has held up beautifully but there is a bit of hard water deposit starting to collect at the base of the faucets. Any tips on something that would be gentle on soapstone and still remove the hard water deposits? I'm not looking for a routine cleaner just something for very periodic use to get rid of the buildup. I'm hesitant to use something strong like Lime-A-Way or CLR for fear of damaging the slab.

Thanks
Bob

Lemon juice

Try soaking a cotton wool pad with lemon juice and placing it around the limescale it should brush off after an hour or so.!

contains mild oxalic acid extracted from rubarb. Does a wonderful job on hard water mineral stains. You might want to test it on a non-visible area of the soapstone to be sure it's ok.
