Wool is a fabulous odor killer. There are a lot of new wool products--Smart Wool, Woolx and others making what is being called performance wool. It can be machine washed and dried. It can be worn more times between washes than other fabrics.

Knitters in the cloth diapering community make something called a wool soaker. It's a heavy, knit diaper cover that keeps leaks in overnight. Turn it inside out in the morning, let it air out and the urine smell is undetectable.

I used this idea as inspiration for making wool panty liners. I hated using disposables every day for very light leakage. I knitted large wool squares, felted them and cut out the panty liners. I sewed them into my underwear, and they work great. It absorbs the leaks, and I don't smell of urine.

I have also become very fond of Lume deodorant. Between the wool panty liners and Lume, I don't feel or smell like an incontinent old person. (Husband concurs)

I can't vouch for the company in the link, but the claims track with my experience using wool.

I don`t even like wool pullovers because they seem to fill the whole room with a wet sheep smell when you dry them indoors after washing.
Much better than wet dog smell, but still... LOL

Isn`t terribly itchy to have wool on such a sensitive body part?

LUME deodorant...

That woman who does the commercials is hysterical. I bet if she could she would drop her drawers on TV and show everywhere she applies the cream deodorant.

alpaca & merino

I used alpaca on the panty liners and they are incredibly soft. The clothes are merino, and as far as I can tell, they don't smell even when wet--totally unlike my heavy fisherman's sweater.

The worst...sweaters that smell like wet dog. I took a pottery class with a woman who spun and knitted her dogs' hair.
