Combo,
I’ve a 13 year old SQ electric dryer.
Was trying to teach my autistic son to do laundry.
He pushed the timer knob I’m and turned the timer the wrong way.
The timer knobs is stuck in the push to start position. The dryer will work, however it will shut off but the push to start knob remains in the stuck position
Do I need to replace the timer now?

Timer Problem On A SQ Dryer

Hi, you may end up replacing the timer, but it might start working properly again, in the mean time open the dryer door when you are turning the timer to the desired starting point to save stress on the timer contacts and the main motor.

You should either cut off the excess vent hose or at least shake the lower part of the hose nearly every time you use the machine to keep lint from accumulating in the lower part of the hose.

The timer is pretty easy to replace if you are a do-it-your-self type.

Thanks gentlemen.

Thanks for the help! I ordered the part online from PWS for under 90 bucks.
I’m in CT John, you’re the first person I thought of to ask for help!
