Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

My parents had a unit like that, a GE, I believe. The indoor component was only about 6" tell and the outer hung from the same height down to a foot or so below the window. It was extremely unwieldy and definitely required 2 guys to install even though it wasn't very heavy.

IIRC it was 8,000 btu and seemed to do an excellent job dehumidifying. It wasn;t that quiet, though.

That was my first air conditioner back in the 70's.. When I moved west I "lent" it to my sister on the promise never to throw it out because I wanted it back.. Didn't happen.. Anyways,, it was a fantastic a/c.. Super quiet and easy to install. I'm flummoxed why above someone says it was difficult to install.. I put it in and took it out by myself. There was a rubber gasket type thing you'd cut to fit your window to fill in the 2 or so inch gap between the window frame and window.. I guess if it' now missing you'd have to fashion up something else. They were re branded for other companies as well as sold under dept store brands like Eatons in Canada
