Cool Antique Range and Dishwasher - $30 (Fort Wayne)

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

The cycle knob is missing off the lower panel of the dishwasher. The kitchen's looking rough. I can only imagine what the inside of that DW looks like.

The stove does have a self-cleaning lower oven.

Wonder how long since this kitchen's been in use.

On a funnier note.....I've heard of grab and go....but this kitchen must be an
eat-n-go kitchen since the toilet's right there and handy. Is this the latest concept for the work triangle in kitchen's? OH MY!!! (must have kept the Charmin next to the salt and pepper shakers on the counter) lol

Paul:

The dishwasher's a KDS-15, produced between October, 1964 and April, 1968. It's a TOL Superba with the door frame kit. It appears to be in kind of rough shape, but at the very least, should be a great parts machine for someone.

The Dead Leprechaun Green aside, that range is not an un-interesting specimen. It's a Model J 795 Americana with P*7, not the TOL but a nice range. P*7 was in the lower oven only, and this model did not have the removable liners in the upper oven that could be put into the lower one during a self-cleaning cycle. There was also no Sensi-Temp. There was, however, the vent hood shown. This one is shown in the 1972 catalog.

Thanks, Sandy!

Interesting kitchen layout - the "boomerang" island with the sink and dishwasher is pretty cool. Hope the throne had not been permanently installed where it was shown in one of the pictures, though!

I don't think this kitchen is actually in use. It looks like a vacant residence that is being sold off or ...maybe renovated(toilet in kitchen, which was for the " I gotta eat and run" crowd....ok, moans deserved.

I delivered pizza to some houses where this kitchen would have been luxurious, by comparison.

Bob:

There's no accounting for taste, but I think it's safe to say a lot of people would feel that combining green appliances with fumed-oak cabinetry, gold-and-cream wallpaper and red-orange carpeting would be a risky design choice in any year.

I can agree with some here-that kitchen is HIDEIOUS!!That red carpet needs to go!!!HATE carpeted kitchens and bathrooms!!!That poor KA dishwasher doesn't look very healthy--maybe you DON'T want to see its money shot!

Sandy - it's inspiration from 1971 Better Homes and Gardens Interior decoration on the cheap.. ala-gaudy looking. There were worse looking interiors and they were clean and new....this place has all the makings of a house preceding demolition or used for a horror movie...hmmm.. who posted this disaster, to begin with?

What is with the Post-Coach lamp sticking up from the batwing shaped counter??What was someone taking that designed this kitchen--Now THIS is a kitchen I would LOVE to rip out--Pass me the sledge and Sawzall please!!!

Lamp Post:

It also serves as the trigger mechanism for the secret sliding door to the Batcave.

Ya'll are too funny!!

I'm just glad they are trying to find homes for these vs. junking them. I agree those machines are likely good donor machines but I would be scared to open that dishwasher. Who knows how long that thing has been locked shut and what could be growing (or died) inside.

If you open the dishwasher, the 'ghost of trends past' will escape. I am glad they are trying to save the appliances; most people would just send them to the dump or scrap them.
