Before and after the sell-off of CorningWare and VISIONS to World Kitchen, the same molds were used for cookware made from white Pyroceram sold as CorningWare, and from Calexium (transparent amber Pyroceram) sold as VISIONS. World Kitchen still sells such fraternal twins overseas.
The only shape that wasn't sold that way was the classic squared skillets, saucepans and Dutch ovens. According to some historians, the shape was based on the popularity of frozen vegetables sold in rectangular blocks.
I suggested to World Kitchens a limited edition that embodies the classic shape of CorningWare with the intrinsic beauty of VISIONS and call it InSight.
Ain't heard back yet but whaddya think?
