Picked up this machine at the curb while checking out yard sales today. The hot water trickled in (sediment in the inlet screen) and it pumped out so slow it would go into the rinse before it was even drained completely. Took the cabinet off and removed the "self cleaning lint filter" which ended up holding a wad of lint about the size of a tennis ball, some twist-ties, a button and a few pins and staples, and now it drains and runs fine. After about a 2 hour detailing job, it now looks like new. And it's a SUDS SAVER! The lady who junked it even had all the manuals for it. Not bad for a freebie. Model #110.92579100, SN# CD0601041. Anyone know the year of mfg?

What brand is it?

I'm guessing it's a Kenmore from the top/lid arrangement, but I can't tell for sure.

The suds saver allows you to reuse either wash or rinse water, in either 18 or 23 gallon amounts, depending on the size of your laundry tub. It has normal, heavy duty & perm press cycles. And yes, it is a Kenmore "Water Miser" Advantage washer.

Wow, that's the only SudsSaver DD I've ever seen. I wonder how it knew how to accomplish the 18 or 23 gallon "save", uh, how it did it differently between the two settings.

Bob, there is a suds level pressure switch to regulate the amount of water saved depending the selection. This machine was available until about 2000. It was a special order at most stores.

This particular washer was made the 6th week of 1994.
D=1994, 06 the week of the year.

Water save buttone turned to the to left was for 23 gallons, to the right was for 18 gallons.

YAY finally a way to save rinse water!

...But it's still a shred-more with the slower speed for *normal* and *gentle* settings and heavy duty for the equivalent action of a hyperactive ADHD bad-drag-queen on uppers, coffee, and dark soda simultaneusly.

Still, all-in-all, an American icon.

Steve "Normal" cycle starts with regular agitation and shifts to gentle. Rinse agitation is gentle. The spin speeds are normal. Perm Pres strarts on normal, shifts to gentle. Does the cool down. Rinse agitation is gentle. Spin speeds are gentle. Heavy duty is all regualr agitation and spin speeds throughout! Steve, I saw the gallon differentiation on the knob. Just wondered how it accomplished these to matters that are different amounts and what happens different between the two when it accomplishes this task.

I like the 18 gallon setting. Then, one can add hot to a tubfull of rinse-water "cold" to get at least a slightly warmish blend.

Except for the color and the arrangement of the control panel, this baby looks like our 1990 Direct-Drive that has just died last weekend (which is now replaced by a Kenmore Elite Oasis -- YESSSSS!!!!! Auntie and Grandma FINALLY ponied up and got a REAL washer for a change..... I am going to finally take it for a test drive next week when I finally have some laundry to take down to the basement to do). The washer pictured on this thread could be a 1992-95 model.
