Time Out, everyone! Take Five and whip up some fondue!

I love the kitchen, the iconic NuTone radio/intercom wall unit and I love Take Five. The percussion makes me think of crashes like a boulder rolling down a mountain smashing into things. Demented, I know. Thanks for sharing, Tom

do you ever wonder?

When I see pic like this I think how cool...naturally I travle back to my childhood and remember when "momma had"...I wonder....do you think we'll ever see pics of kitchens done up in mave, teal accessorized with ducks with blue ribbons around the neck and black and white cows..and think OMG..how awsome? Personally at the time when all that was in voge I owned a home built in 1968..it was still orginal...frankly I liked the copper tone appliances, paneling and white with gold specks counter tops better than pink, country blue and green...still do...lol

Amen Washerboy. I also liked the beautiful 50s kitchens with the sort of gray-beige paneling that turned out to be bleached walnut according to a designer. It was very effective with turquoise appliances. Our 1966 home with pecan wood kitchen cabinets & paneling with off white Formica counters and coppertone appliances never looked dated to me, unlike the country look you describe which I did not like from day one, but was such a hit with so many.

The Brubeck's kitchen is timeless, but I imagine if the house ever has new owners, they will not appreciate it and will have it gutted and redone in "today's style."
