Ok, so a while ago I got a miserable, rusty dog of a belt drive machine - a portable whirlpool. The PO said it hadn't been working at all, and I had no luck getting it moving. I've decided to part it, as its really beat.
I pulled the transmission out today and I'm trying to figure out if this is worth saving, perhaps worth making available to anyone who has one of these little monsters. I don't think it would do me any good for repairing my frogeye. My quandry: does it work properly?
I've got it here on the floor. I can spin the big pulley and (carefully!) lift one of the solenoid plungers and the shaft wags back and forth, as it would when agitating, so all is right with the world there.
However, when I lift the other plunger instead, the shaft does nothing at all; when I am thinking it should be spinning.
Does this sound like a busted transmission to anyone, or would this be the normal situation if you had one of these transmissions out on the floor?
Thanks!
