DEVO's Gerald Casale: Cool mid-century modern home on market

Apparently, 'Whip It' brought in more royalties than I had imagined! The DEVO co-founder/bassist has put his circa 1963 home on the market for a cool $1.2 million (reduced from $1.5 million).

The appliances aren't original (AW can take care of that) but I think the place is great--and rather tastefully decorated.

<span style="font-size: 14pt; color: #008000;"> I've never been much of a fan of "Palm Springs Modern" even with Modernism Week approaching, but that's just me. You'd need a regular window cleaning  person the same as you would a pool maintenance guy with that place, and with all that glass and that low-insulating roof solar would be a good idea (probably already has it). Still a very attractive house.  I guess I like more traditional homes with lots of trees and green and a forest in the backyard. Fat chance of finding that here...cactus, rocks and sand with the occasional palm tree.</span>

In one photo of a "kitchen-type" space (adjacent to what appears to be a workout space) there is a vintage dishwasher.  Looks like it could be Frigidaire or possibly Waste King?

 

LOVE the 1x1 mosaic counters in the bathrooms.

Lawrence, I don't think it's either Frigidaire or Waste King.  The wall oven in the kitchen looks like it might be a Frigidaire.

Both the dishwasher and wall ovens are Frigidaire. I badly want brushed chrome panels like these for mine!

I wish they would show pics of the HVAC systems in these houses, some of the old ones could be interesting.

Now that's a house I'd love to live in.. In real life it's probably smaller than the pictures,,which appear to be stretched, look at the otr microwave,, ever seen a double wide like that.

I too like the house and the furnishings.  I normally don't like period stuff, but this one looks great.
